Coloropolis: Relaxing Coloring Books for All Ages
Role: Co-founder, Illustrator, Designer
What: Designed original coloring pages and coloring books for Coloropolis
Where: Coloropolis (online shop, global audience)
How: Created themed sets of coloring pages and 3 coloring books for a variety of art mediums and ages
Impact: Elevated the standard for coloring page design, fostered a creative community, and encouraged relaxation, exploration, and connection for colorists in the US and abroad.
Goals
My goal in starting Coloropolis was to raise the bar for coloring page design. I noticed the market was flooded with low-quality, AI generated or repetitive designs, and as a mom, I wanted to create pages and books that would be fun, engaging, and suitable for parents and kids to color together.
Collaboration
Coloropolis is a true team effort! I collaborate closely with my friend and co-founder, who is a professional educator. Together, we brainstorm themes, develop ideas, and bring each coloring set to life.
Our collaboration also extends to nurturing the Coloropolis community, building connections on TikTok and across social media. We co-create content, share coloring tips, host creative challenges, and encourage our audience to experiment with new materials and techniques.
Design Concept
Each coloring set is thoughtfully designed to inspire a sense of curiosity, calm, and creative adventure for all ages. Our illustrations are fully hand-drawn and vectorized to ensure quality.
We intentionally create pages that balance intricate details with open space, making them suitable for both young children and adults who love to slow down and immerse themselves in coloring.
Final Design
Building on the success of our individual coloring page sets, we brought together our favorite and most popular illustrations into three themed coloring books: Mindful Animals, Cozy Hobbies, and Furry Travelers.
To celebrate the versatility of coloring, we intentionally market these books across our channels by exploring a variety of techniques and showcasing everything from traditional crayons to watercolors, collage, acrylic inks, and pastels.
Results
Since launching our coloring books, we’ve watched Coloropolis grow from a small digital experiment into a creative movement embraced by families, educators, and coloring enthusiasts around the world.
Coloropolis continues to thrive as a hub for creative exploration and community engagement, reminding us that coloring is for everyone, and there’s always a new way to make it your own.
