Padlet’s Postcards: Creating Personal Moments at EdTech Events

Role: Senior Illustrator, Padlet

What: A series of four postcards for Padlet’s marketing at EdTech conferences

Where: Bett (London), ISTE (Denver), Spring CUE (Palm Springs), and TCEA (Austin)

How: Designed postcards in Padlet’s signature illustration style. Each postcard was part of an interactive booth activity: visitors could write a message, drop it in a post box, and Padlet mailed it for them, making it a personal and exciting experience

Impact: Created genuine emotional engagement and lasting memories for conference attendees.
During my time at Padlet, I worked on a set of postcards designed to transform the typical booth visit into a memorable and personal one. These postcards were featured at various EdTech conferences including Bett, ISTE, Spring CUE, and TCEA, and offered attendees a chance to pause, connect, and take home a tangible memory from the event.

Goals

The main goal was to make every booth interaction as personal and thoughtful as Padlet’s products themselves. By inviting attendees to write and send a postcard, Padlet wanted to spark genuine emotional connections and create relics that would last long after the conference ended.

Collaboration

I worked closely with Padlet’s marketing and sales teams to ensure each postcard reflected the brand’s playful spirit and attention to detail, while fitting seamlessly into the booth experience.

My Role

As a Senior Illustrator, I developed Padlet’s signature illustration style and created the postcard designs to reflect the unique visual identity that became closely associated with the company.

Design Concept

For each postcard, I wanted to capture the spirit of its conference location by including local architecture, cultural references, iconic foods, and symbols unique to each place.

My goal was for every design to be a colorful explosion of flavor, instantly illustrating the energy and personality of the city or state it represented.

Final Design

Each of the four postcards featured bold and playful illustrations. The busy compositions reflected the diversity of each location and the abundance of experiences each city and state offers to visitors.

Color schemes were carefully chosen to reflect the colors commonly associated with these places, making every postcard feel uniquely connected to its setting and experience.

Results

The postcards quickly became a highlight of Padlet’s booth, drawing in visitors, sparking conversations, and leaving a lasting impression.

This interactive experience encouraged attendees to stay at the booth longer, creating more opportunities for the sales team to connect and engage with potential customers.

Visitors appreciated the personal touch and attention to detail: qualities that defined Padlet’s approach, both in their products and in every experience they created during my time there.
